1000 Election Flashpoints Identified

Spread the love

As the country gears up for the December 7 general elections, the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has identified over 1000 flashpoints and potential hotspots across the nation.

These areas, deemed critical to maintaining peace and order, will receive special attention from the military and other security agencies on election day.

According to Brigadier General Kweku Dankwa Hagan, head of operations, training, and peacekeeping at the Armed Forces headquarters, the GAF has been working closely with the police service and other stakeholders to ensure a peaceful and credible electoral process.

“We have identified areas that are prone to violence and unrest, and we are taking proactive measures to prevent any potential conflicts,” Brigadier General Hagan said.

“Our goal is to provide a secure environment for all citizens to exercise their right to vote.”

The GAF’s efforts are part of a broader strategy to maintain peace and stability during the elections.

The military will provide support to the police service, but will not be stationed at polling stations.
