The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will from Thursday, November 13, 2025, introduce a one-day passport delivery service as part of ongoing reforms to improve passport issuance in the country.
The new service, announced in a social media post by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Mr Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, will cost GH¢2,000 and is intended to provide a super-expedited option for applicants with urgent needs.
Mr Ablakwa said the initiative would cater for emergencies such as travellers who discover their passports have expired at the airport or individuals facing urgent medical situations.
He stated that the introduction of the one-day service would not affect the regular passport application process.
“Your GH¢350 new passport application fee will still guarantee you an efficient and convenient delivery in less than 15 days,” he said.
The Minister noted that the new option is strictly for same-day processing and delivery, with special charges applying.
The one-day service forms part of broader passport reforms aimed at improving efficiency, reducing delays and enhancing service delivery.
