Seven clubs from cocoa-producing and consuming countries will participate, with selections based on country domicile. The tournament’s core value is “Green Earth,” promoting cocoa while addressing industry issues like farmers’ pensions, land, reclamation, and child labor.
Football is being used to leverage its popularity and connect with younger audiences, promoting sustainable sourcing and the role of farmers.
The tournament will kick off with playoffs between Accra Hearts of Oak and Kumasi Asante Kotoko on February 1, 2026, and Africa Sports vs ASEC Mimosa on March 1, 2026. The main tournament will be hosted by Brazil in July 2027.
