Govt Anti-Scam Efforts Bearing Fruit, Says Cybersecurity Expert

Samuel Kwame Adomako, a prominent Cybersecurity and Data Expert, has expressed optimism about the government’s anti-scam efforts, citing recent successes in combating cybercrime.

The government’s collaborative approach with agencies like the Cyber Security Authority (CSA) and the Ghana Police Service has led to significant arrests and seizures, disrupting organized cybercrime networks.

Adomako applaud Communications Minister Samuel Nartey George for efforts to curb fraudulent activities in Ghana.

He emphasized that cybersecurity should be a standalone entity in Ghana’s digital governance framework.

“It’s clear that scam cases have decreased, and I will like to acknowledge the Minister’s efforts. The measures put in place is making difference. His timely actions are truly commendable, and we’re noticing the impact,” he said.

“This shows we are on the right track, and I am pleased with the teamwork between the security agencies and the Minister to eradicate this scamming menace.”

He alleged “there are some public figures who are behind these criminals, and it’s high time they are brought to book.”

Mr. Adomako warned Ghanaians to be vigilant, as fraudsters are developing new scam tactics in 2026.

He urged corporate organisations and individuals to invest in robust cyber security systems, in order to safeguard their operations from cyber-attacks and threats.

“Ghanaians should open their eyes very well, because these guys are coming with new methods to scam them,” he cautioned.
