As part of its social corporate responsibility, BonAgro Company Ltd. fumigated Kumasi City Market in the Ashanti Regional capital to get rid of insects.
Fumigation Exercise
Victor Nchonah, the country manager for BonAgro Company Ltd., said that fumigating marketplaces like Kumasi City Market to control insects like cockroaches and ants is part of their social corporate responsibility.

He suggested that in order to completely control insects in market areas, shops, stores, and blinds should always be kept clean.
That notwithstanding, he advises all households to use BonAgro insecticide products (LAST SHOW) because they are high-quality, have no negative health effects, and have been approved by the Food and Drug Authority.
He said the company is willing to partner with market management to ensure the fumigation exercise continues regularly.
He emphasized that the goal is to make Kejetia Market a model of cleanliness and hygiene, not just for the city, but for the entire region.
A Shared Responsibility
The Sanitation Officer of the Kumasi City Market, Ernest Gyambrah, stressed that while management is working tirelessly to ensure the market is clean, traders also have a crucial role to play.

“The market is the face of the city, and we all have a responsibility to keep it clean,” Mr. Gyambrah said.
Speaking to Daily Searchlight during the fumigation exercise, he highlighted the importance of collective action in preventing any future disease outbreaks in the market.
He noted that poor sanitation can lead to the spread of diseases, which can have severe consequences for traders, customers, and the city as a whole.
He also cautioned traders to avoid activities that could lead to a fire outbreak in the market.
“We must all do our part to protect the market. I’m urging all traders to be mindful of their actions and ensure they clean up and leave the market in order before heading home.”
Mr. Gyambrah assured traders that management is committed to improving sanitation in the market and is working on a comprehensive plan to ensure the market remains clean and safe for everyone.
He revealed it has been a while since the market was last fumigated and complimented BonAgro Company Ltd. management for fulfilling their social corporate responsibility and urged them to keep helping the market’s administration in managing insects in the market.
He said “LAST SHOW” is one of the best insecticides on the market and encouraged individuals to patronize the product.
Meanwhile, some traders are voicing their concerns about the prevalence of household insects and rodents in the market, saying they are causing significant disruptions to their businesses.
“These pests are really disturbing us,” one trader said, echoing the sentiments of many others.
However, the traders, who benefited from the fumigation, thanked BonAgro Company Ltd. and the management for their generosity and urged the team to fumigate the market on a regular basis.
