He noted that residents of Hilltop, Ohwimase, and other adjoining communities experienced a surge in criminal activities before Christmas, and following a meeting with the MUSEC, they pledged to donate a motorcycle to the police patrol team.

“We noticed a spike in criminal activities, especially robberies, before last year’s Christmas celebrations, so we met with the MCE and the Denkyemuoso Police Commander to brainstorm solutions. During the meeting, we made a commitment to donate a motorcycle to the patrol team to help keep our community safe,” he said.

The Landlords association have been actively engaging with authorities to tackle rising security concerns.

Municipal Chief Executive of Kwadaso Assembly, Eric Assibey has emphasized the need for a collaborative approach between residents and the police to effectively combat the spate of criminality in the municipality.

Mr. Assibey, who is the municipality’s security council chairperson, appealed to Ghanaians to lend their support to the security agencies within their localities, emphasizing that teamwork is key to boosting national security and safety.

He made the statement during the official handing over of a fleet of motorcycle to the Denkyemuoso District Police Command, donated by the Hilltop Executive Estate Landlords Association.

Mr. Assibey noted that the municipality has been peaceful since he assumed office, praising the efforts of the police and other security agencies within the locality.

He commended the police for their professionalism, dedication, and efforts in keeping the area peaceful, noting that their good relationship with residents has been key to maintaining security.

The MCE also acknowledged that despite the government’s efforts, through the Municipal Security Council, to address potential crimes and security threats, there is still a need for logistics to support the security personnel, particularly the police patrol teams.

He encouraged NGOs, philanthropists, and other organisations to emulate the gesture by the Hilltop Executive Estate Landlords Association to enhance security in the Kwadaso municipality.

“The Association’s donation of the motorcycle to the police command is commendable; it shows what can be achieved when committed individuals come together,” he said

He continued that: “Ensuring our security personnel are well-equipped is key to maintaining national stability and tackling the surge in crime. it’s high time we recognize that this shouldn’t be the government’s burden alone, we all have a role to play.”

Chief Superintendent Owoahene Kaakyire Asiedu Acheampong, the Abuakwa Divisional Police Commander, appealed to citizens to liaise with the police to clamp down on crimes by sharing information on suspicious activities.

He stressed that residents play a major role in combating crime, and their involvement is crucial to keeping communities safe.
