C/R: Pregnant Woman, Children & Others Injured In A Road Crash At Assin Fosu

Some 23 passengers have sustained various degrees of injuries including a pregnant woman and children in a road accident.

Four others are in critical condition following a head-on collision involving a Sprinter bus with Registration Number GT-4789-13 and Hyundai Matiz with Registration number GW-8582-20 at Assin Fosu in the Assin Foso Municipality of Central Region.

According to eyewitnesses, the Sprinter bus was travelling from Twifu Praso and heading towards Kumasi, upon reaching Assin Fosu, a mentally challenged person crossed his lane and in the process of saving him, crashed with the Hyundai Matiz which was travelling from Kumasi in the opposite direction and heading towards Cape Coast.

Confirming the news, Chief Inspector Boateng, the station officer of the Assin Fosu Divisional MTTD said all the 23 passengers on board both vehicles have been conveyed to St Francis Xavier Hospital in Assin Fosu in the Assin Foso Municipality of Central Region for immediate treatment.

He, however, advised drivers to respect road signs and safety measures and seek rest if they are tired to save lives.
