Fire Guts Shops, Burns Goods Worth Thousands of Ghana Cedis In Akim Oda

A building near Nana’s Palace Restaurants and Bar in Akim Oda in the Birim Central Municipality of the Eastern Region was on Sunday night engulfed by fire; destroying three (3) shops and goods.

According to people affected by the incident, goods worth thousands of Ghana cedis have been lost to the fire.

 

Personnel of the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS) were at the scene to bring the fire under control, thereby preventing it from spreading to more shops.

According to a witness, the fire was caused by electrical faults.

Due to the intervention of the Ghana National Fire Service, the fire was doused to prevent further spread.

According to peace FM’s reporter, Kwabena Ofori, he is worried why markets and shops only get burnt at dawn during rainfall in Akim oda. He made this in a Facebook post.

 

“What at all is going on at Akyem Oda that market and shops only get burnt at dawn during rainstorms?”
“This just happened today at dawn as three container stores with food items get burnt right opposite Nana’s palace restaurant at Akyem Oda.”
