The Obaasima Summit Foundation together with Guinness Ghana Breweries PLC have ended this year’s edition of the Obaasima regional campus tour with a trip to All Nations University, Koforidua in the Eastern Region of Ghana.
The Obaasima Summit campus tour is mainly geared towards empowering women on synergism and teamwork, networking, impeccable oratory/public speaking as well as confidence in interviews.
This year’s edition of the Guinness Ghana Obaasima Summit is themed “PROGRESSIVE PORTRAYAL: BUILDING CAPACITY FOR ELEVATION”.
The 2022 edition of the regional tour started in the Greater Accra Region at the Ralph Sylvanus Amegashie Hall, University of Ghana Business School in Accra on Friday February 25, 2022 and later to the Jophus Anamuah Mensah Conference Centre, University of Education, Winneba in the Central Region on Friday March 11, 2022.
The regional campus tours aimed at imbibing the tenets of women empowerment in students, a directive that facilitates the progressive portrayal of women was further extended to the University for Development Studies, Tamale on Saturday March 26, 2022 in a colourful event.
On Saturday April 2, 2022, the Eastern Regional capital of Koforidua hosted the regional edition of the tour at the All Nations University.
Speaking to the media, Head of Corporate Marketing at Guinness Ghana, Sabina Manu touched on the core set of practices one needs to ace an interview. She orated succinctly on the need for an interviewee to approach interviews with an utmost sense of confidence and belief in their abilities.
This she believes can go a long way in convincing the panel of the interviewee’s qualities.
Also speaking at the event was the General Secretary of the Ghana Commission of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization Ama Serwaa Nerquaye Tetteh who espoused the mastery of Public Speaking and its importance.
According to her, Public Speaking helps in building one’s confidence and can be a key cog in the art of persuasion.
Managing Partner of Mahogany Consult, Baaba Coffie stressed on the need for one to have a personal branding. According to her, personal branding helps build one’s outlook and goes a long way in determining your public image hence, personal branding guides how effective a person can build their career and the quality of their output.
On her part, Head of Sales and Marketing at ATL Petra Aba Asamoah underscored the essence of networking. She submitted that, networking forms the basis of making the right connections that opens the door to one’s personal development. According to her, both physical and virtual networking are important components since they are interconnected.
Next year’s edition promises to be even more exciting and informative than this year’s edition with many more seasoned speakers set to grace the summit.
