At least nine residents of Kukua in the North East Region are currently receiving treatment for various degrees of injury at the Walewale Hospital after they were reportedly brutalised by military personnel.
The victims aged between 19 and 50 claimed they were dragged out from their homes onto the street and assaulted with wire cans, sticks, and other objects.
The victims suffered swollen and broken body parts.
The heavily armed military personnel were said to be responding to an attack and burning of a commercial bus by unidentified gunmen on the Tamale-Walewale Road near the community.
The bus reportedly from the Bawku area was attacked earlier this morning by gunmen, leaving the vehicle in complete ashes and four passengers killed and cremated, including a baby.
The victims were reportedly burnt along the bus after they allegedly refused the gunmen order to come down from the bus.
