The Ghana Football Association (GFA) Chief of Staff, Michael Osekre has dragged the Kumasi-based Broadcast Journalist and his media outlet to the High Court for defamation of character.
Mr. Osekre has filed a defamation suit against media firm TeraOne Media (operators of Sompa FM and Sompa TV) and its journalist Jeffrey Asare.
The unofficial member of the country’s football governing body has sued the media house over comments made by Jeffrey Asare on Sompa FM stating that the Ghana FA chief of staff, Michael Osekre received $50,000 as appearance fee at the 2022 World Cup.
After 24-hours, Jeffery Asare issued an unqualified apology to Osekre who is the board member of Vision FC over the damning allegations.
Earlier this week, The Ghana Football Association instructed its lawyers to institute legal action against persons who defame the association, its officials, products and destroy the Black Stars brand as well as the media platforms used to do same.
