New Ghana coach Chris Hughton has announced his 25-man squad list for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers double-header against Angola later this month.
The former Tottenham Hortspur Manager, who took charge of the team on February 12, 2023, has also included Edmund Addo of Spartak Subotica and Ransford Yeboah Königsdörffer.
Also in the list are Majeed Ashimeru of Anderlecht and Joseph Painstil of Genk.
Baba Rahman misses out on a Black Stars squad for the first time since March 2022.
Joseph Paintsil makes his return to the Black Stars after missing out on the FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
The forward is having the best season of his career; with 11 goals and 10 assists in the Belgian League this season.
Majeed Ashimeru makes his return to the Black Stars for the first time since 2021.
The midfielder continues to be vital for Anderlecht this season: he ranks 2nd for league goal involvements (2goals, 3 assist ) among midfielders in the team.
FC Sheriff left back Patrick Kpozo makes the squad, he was also in the preliminary squad for Qatar. Kpozo has featured in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League this season. The former Ghana U20 international is yet to play for the Black Stars

Ghana will play Angola in a double header this month in search of a ticket to the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations slated for Cote D’Ivoire in January next year.
The Black Stars will host Palancras Negras at the Baba Yara Sports stadium on Thursday, March 23 before travelling to Luanda on March 27, 2023 for the reverse fixture.
Ghana are joint top of the Group E table with 4 points from two games following a 3-0 win over Madagascar and a 1-1 draw with Central African Republic in June last year.
