Caleb Amankwah scored at the death to fire Hearts of Oak to a crucial 1-0 victory over Kotoku Royals in match-week 22 at the Ohene Gyan Stadium on Sunday mid-afternoon

The ‘Phobians’ started on a good note and waved series of attacks on their opponents but they had well checked and broke on a counter and nearly upset the host in the opening minutes but a great timed tackle from Zakaria Yakubu saved the situation.

Linda Mtange wins the homesters a free kick at the edge of the box. He launched in a decent one but was dealt with nicely by Frank Boateng.

Both teams mounted so much pressure on each other but couldn’t produce any goal at half time.

In the second half, the away team resumed on a blistering note and nearly grabbed the lead on the 55th minute but his effort was saved by Richmond Ayi.

The Blue Blacks broke once again in what looked really dangerous but once again Zakaria Yakubu was at right place at the right time.

On the 74th minute, Hearts of Oak appealed for a penalty after looked like going off the hand of an opposing player in the box but the referee wasn’t interested in that.

Isaac Mensah with a huge opportunity to put the homesters in front but Isaac Mensah struck wide for a restart on the 85th minute.

Caleb Amankwah finally scored with a towering header from Salifu’s delivery on the 90+6 minute to win it for the Rainbow Club.

It ended 1-0 for Hearts of Oak after full time and have returned into the top four with 35 points.
