Hon. Alfred Obeng-Boateng Cuts Sod For Bituminous Surfacing Of Adupri-Tanoso Road And Rehabilitation Of Afamu Villages Road

The Adupri and Afamu communities were thrown into a state of frenzy and ecstasy upon the award of their main roads to a contractor for bituminous surfacing and Rehabilitation.

According to Nana Kwasi Tenakwa ll, the Chief of Adupri, the road was a major source of worry for the entire community. The chief expressed his appreciation to the Government and the MP for the project. He however pleaded with the contractor to consider the youth in the community during the recruitment exercise for labourers.

In his welcome address, Mr. John Koah, Regional Minister’s representative at the Municipal Assembly praised the MP for his lobbying skills adding that action speaks louder than words. He quoted the Latin expression “Acta non-Verba” ( action, not words) to buttress his assertion. Mr. Koah reiterated that Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality is a gateway to Western North as such, the constituents should conduct themselves to reflect that accolade. He expressed his optimism for the completion of the project and solicited massive support for the MP. He finally urged parents to take the education of their children seriously.

On his part, Mr. Eric Theophilus Tandoh 1st vice chairman of NPP, Western North Region, recounted the Health, Economic, and Social benefits of a good road network in a community. He also lauded the MP for the numerous development projects rolled out in the Constituency and urged the constituents to support the Member of Parliament to deliver on his promises.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The people cheered up loudly when the Member of Parliament for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency, Hon. Alfred Obeng-Boateng mounted the platform. He recounted the massive support offered to him and President Akufo-Addo by the community during the 2020 General Elections.

 

 

As a Geological Engineer, the then-parliamentary candidate realized that the road needed serious attention hence the promise to construct it. He continued that, all kinds of vehicles can ply that stretch for economic purposes. The MP was optimistic that the 5.8km road would be completed ahead of the 12 months schedule since funds are readily available. He urged the constituents to offer him and Akufo-Addo led government the needed support to enable the government to do more projects. The MP reminded the gathering of the numerous questions put up on the floor of Parliament to whip up development projects for the various communities. In addition, he also visits the Ministers at the various offices to appeal to them to consider his constituency during the allocation of projects. “Awaso town roads are next to be constructed,” Hon. Obeng Boateng hinted.

 

A similar event was held at Afamu for the rehabilitation of roads leading to their villages where most of the farms are located and the construction of a bridge over the Chene river.

Other dignitaries took turns addressing the gathering. The occasion was graced by Mr. John Amokye, Financial Secretary, Western North, Mr. Affum Kroko, NPP Constituency Chairman Juaboso, Mr. Kennedy Mensah, Bodi, Mr. Obeng Stephen, Aowin, Mr. Barnabas Mmera, Suaman and Mr. Paul Andoh 1st Vice Chairman, Bibiani. Mr. Francis Afenyo, former Constituency secretary, Juaboso, and Mr. Henry Amissah, Municipal Engineer were also in attendance. Nana Adu Kwabena Chief of Bunkaso, Nana Amoah Kyei, chief of Afamu.
