The Chief of Asamankese , Osabarimah Atiabesa Kentinka Pobi Asomaning IV, has refuted claims on social media that he has been destooled and clarified that those publications were false and that he remains the true and legitimate Chief of Asamankese.
In a press conference held on Thursday 8th June, 2023 Osaberima Atiabesa, cautioned the general public to desist from publishing false and fake stories in the traditional and new media and seek clarification on pertinent issues to bring sanity on the traditional systems.
His statement said ,” it has come to my notice that, on Monday 5th June, 2023 a publication was made purporting that I have been destooled by Osagyefo Omoatia Ofori Panyin, the Okyehene for misconduct. Due to that some Chiefs in the Ofori Panin fie performed some rituals to initiate destoolement. This is false, this are all false claims and fake statements being churned out in the media”.
According to him, there was no form of misconduct or disrespect when he visited the palace.
He noticed that for over 21 years as a Chief , he has visited the Ofori Panin Palace on several occasions for state council meetings with many Chiefs from other Traditional areas and did not remember ever doing something to disrespect the Okyehene .
Osaberima Atiabesa Kentinka Pobi Asomaning revealed that he was installed as the chief of Asamankese by his family elders (Abrade clan) on December 20th 2021 at the Asamankese palace without any interference from any party.
“I was at the Ofori Panin fie on Monday 5th June 2023 to summon a Sub Chief for allegedly encroaching on portions of lands in my jurisdiction”. However, I was questioned at the Ofori Panin fie by the Okyehene in what capacity I had summoned the Sub Chief. I vehemently answered to be the chief of Asamankese to his three direct question from Okyehene. Upon my answer Okyehene Osagyefo Omoatia Ofori Panin left the house.” He noted.
He bemoaned that, is about time traditional rulers, president, Ministry of chieftaincy and other stakeholders step in the Asamankese chieftaincy dispute.
He further clarified that his conduct was never an affront to the dignity of Okyeman as speculated on social media
