The Ashanti Regional Chairman for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako together with Mr. Charles Opoku, have paid for the casket to be used to bury a young married woman who died following former President John Dramani Mahama convey at Dansame in Assin North.
Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako popularly known as Chairman Wontumi revealed to the bereaved family that “Charles Opoku has given out money to be used to purchase her casket. He has also given us money to be given to the family to use for any other preparation.”
An elder of the family who received the NPP delegation openly stated that “We don’t know how to say thank you for what you have done. What you have done to the family is beyond our imagination. This gesture you have shown to us would pave way for Charles Opoku to win this by-election.”
“This is pure love you have shown us…God bless Chairman Wontumi for this love”, the man said.
Commenting on the accident, Chairman Wontumi said he gathered that “she was in the farm with her husband and her husband even stopped her from going out to join the NDC convey. As soon as she went, she was sacrificed. She broke her neck on the spot after vehicle crashed”.

Last Saturday, the said lady was confirmed dead at Dansame, after John Mahama’s vehicle conveying journalists crashed.
Several others were reported to have sustained severe injuries.
