Businessman and philanthropist, Nelson Ndebah Ndebugre has donated Mathematical sets to all Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the Bawku West District to motivate them to write the exams and come out with flying colours.
Mr Ndebah said at the donation is his small way of expressing the accept adage that education key to development, hence the need for all children to embrace it.
He reiterated the urgent need for parents to finance their wards education more especially the girl child. He initially commenced this exercise with five Junior High Schools in the Bawku West District three years ago, increased the number to twenty four lin 2022 and therefore deemed it necessary to extend gesture to cover the entire Constituency in 2023.
Mr. Ndebah, a son of the late renowned lawyer and former Member of Parliament for the Zebilla Constituency Lawyer Ndebugre, indicated that he has become successful due to education, and more again appealed to parents and stakeholders in education to drum home on the need for children of school going age to be in school.
According to residents of Bawku West District, Mr Ndebah has been a blessing to them because of his numerous social interventions in the district.
Receiving the items, Deputy Director of Education for the Bawku West District, Moro Mohammed Akugre thanked Mr Ndebah for his kind gesture and therefore promised to deliver the items to the beneficiaries with the ultimate goal of accomplishing the intended target.The Headmaster of Zebilla Junior High School, Akumasi Anthony thanked Mr Ndebah affectionately called (NNN) for touching lives in and outside the Bawku West District.
He further added that donations of this nature are of great motivation to the pupils to learn hard and therefore charged others to emulate the good work of Nelson Ndebah Ndebugre and equally come to the aid of pupils in the district.Master Atewin Einstein, a BECE candidate of Zebilla Junior High School who spoke on behalf of the pupils could not hide his joy about the donation, and promised they will learn harder as they furthers their education in future.
