Mr Clement Nii Lamptey Wilkinson, the Municipal Chief Executive of Ga West says the Assembly has made an audacious and almost unbelievable claim, that the millions of dollars and pounds found in the minister of Sanitation and Water Resources home could be unaccounted donations she received at a recently held funeral.
The communicator insisted that two huge funerals that befell Cecilia Dapaah could explain this, the death of her brother and her mother a year ago could explain the huge sums in her home in Abelemkpe.
He cited the company that dredged the Odaw River could be behind the huge donations.
“The company which received $43 million dollars to dredge the Odaw river could have given Cecilia Dapaah $2 million dollars in funeral donation. You know Until the family meets to look at the entire donation, it would not be touched. It could be the reason the money was at her home”
Parts of the video was shared on twitter by former deputy information minister Felix Kwakye Fosu, who was shocked at the strange and audacious explanation by the NPP Communicator
The minister’s domestic staff are accused of stealing $1 million dollars, 300,000 Euros, millions of Ghana cedis and tens of thousands of cedis in jewellery and clothing.
The minister who is still at post is under pressure from the minority to resign, civil society organisations and Anti corruption organisations to resign or be sacked by the President.
Folks, please take a listen at this "explanation" from this NPP chap on how the Sanitation Minister came by so much money. pic.twitter.com/C9bMBYnhSO
