Reverend Kwabena Andrews, widely known as Osofo Kyiri Abosom and the founder of the Ghana Union Movement (GUM), has announced his intention to take legal action against President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo if he assumes the presidency in the future.

Expressing his surprise, Osofo Kyiri Abosom criticized President Akufo-Addo’s decision to prioritize the construction of the National Cathedral over preserving judges’ buildings. He views the National Cathedral initiative as lacking meaningful significance.

He underlined that if he were to be elected president, he would pursue legal action against President Akufo-Addo regarding the National Cathedral matter.

“In the event that I assume the presidency, I would bring President Akufo-Addo to court over the National Cathedral issue. I find it perplexing that he chose to demolish the judges’ buildings for the sake of constructing the Cathedral. What is the purpose of the Cathedral?”

Osofo Kyiri Abosom also proposed the implementation of regulations that would limit church services to specific days, primarily Sundays, to enhance the religious experience.

He elaborated, “If it’s possible, we should enact laws that prohibit attending church on any day other than Sundays. Alternatively, we can choose Fridays as the designated day. This way, we can establish that Saturdays and Sundays are specifically for Christians.”

Additionally, he suggested that confining church activities to designated days would help minimize noise levels on other days, leading to a more serene environment.
