Some residents in the Asutifi North of the Ahafo Region have pleaded with President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to maintain Anthony Adjei Mensah as the District Chief Executive (DCE) for the Asutifi North District Assembly in his next administration.

After winning re-election, Nana Addo is expected to make changes in his appointees after his inauguration on January 7, 2021, who will aid him in the smooth running of his administration.

However, the people in Asutifi North District believe any attempt by the Nana Addo to change their DCE will cut them off from the success they have chalked since Anthony Adjei Mensah’s appointment, and therefore begged the President to maintain him.

Some of the residents, mostly the youth who spoke to MyGhanaMedia described the DCE as “a unifier and a great achiever” who has served the Asutifi North District Assembly with “all humility and hardwork”.

They said as a team player, Anthony Adjei Mensah worked tirelessly with the Member of parliament, Patrick Banor to secure a historic victory for the NPP in the area, indicating he could do even much better when given the nod to continue.

“Since Anthony Mensah took over as DCE about two years ago, he has served the good people of Asutifi North District with all humility and hardwork. He’s indeed a unifier and a great achiever. Almost all the people in town and especially our market women speak well of him. He’s a team player and works with everybody. He campaigned vigorously with our Member of parliament, Patrick Banor. The two worked together with the entire executives to give the NPP a historic win in Asutifi North Constituency,” the residents said.

They continued, “so we’re humbly appealing to the President, Nana, we the youth and the people of Asutifi North are pleading with you to maintain Anthony Adjei Mensah as our DCE to continue your good works for this area.”
