Ghana has officially been added to the e-Visa list of South Africa, an official statement released on Thursday has said.
This means Ghanaian nationals can now apply online for visas to South Africa without visiting the South African High Commission, the statement added.
The announcement comes after media reports suggest that some Ghanaians have had their passports locked up due to delay in the issuance of visa for over three months now.
A statemen issued by the South African High Commission on Thursday (28 September) said those who have had their passports locked up as result of the development for more than three months can now pick them up at VFS Global Office.
“The High Commission of the Republic of South Africa wishes to inform that Ghana has been added by the Government of the Republic of South Africa on the E Visa list, which means that the Ghanaian Nationals can apply online for visas to South Africa without visiting the High Commission.
“The information is available on the portal of the Department of Home Affairs of Republic of South Africa. Ghanaians are urged to visit the following website www.dha.gov.za to obtain more information,” the statement said.
“Passports that have been more than 3 months at the High Commission could be collected at the VFS Global Office,” it added.
