bout one thousand members of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) in the Bono Region have bid farewell to the party to lock horns with the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The defected members are made up of the entire membership of the PPP from all 12 constituencies in the Bono Region.
In a press briefing to announce their decision in Sunyani, Sanfaa Lucious, the Bono Regional Chairman of PPP said today the Regional Chairman, the regional executives, constituency executives, and fearless party members do declare our solemn defection from the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and declare our unwavering support for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and we pledge to abide by the rules and regulations of the party and the high flag of the NDC in our struggle to build a better and prosperous Ghana, so help us, God.
The PPP, which we owe our political career to, has been very instrumental in shaping us into the fine politicians that we have become. The inspiration, leadership, and guidance from Dr. Kwasi Nduom and other past and present executives have been very helpful in building our capacity in the sphere of politics. The Progressive People’s Party ideologies, experiences, and strategic skills we have developed remain a lifetime treasure that we continue to cherish and love to hold at all times, he said.
However, the time has come that we vacate our positions as regional executives, constituency executives, and members of the party in the Bono Region to serve another political calling, a calling we consider consistent with the ideals and dreams of the PPP. Sanfaa Lucious has retreated.
Together with these wonderful people who are herein gathered and many who couldn’t make it to this gathering, we bid farewell to the PPP in order to lock horns with the National Democratic Congress to continue the political struggle in our bid to wrestle power from cluelessly incompetent Akufo Addo/Bawumia government that has led this country into an economic attrition, he stated.
