My Constituents Still Adore Me – Dome-Kwabenya MP

Spread the love

The Member of Parliament for Dome-Kwabenya, Sarah Adwoa Safo has said the majority of her constituents still love her and that love will manifest in February when the NPP conducts its parliamentary primaries.

In an interview with the Media after casting her ballot during the NPP flagbearer election in her constituency, she was confident of victory in the parliamentary primaries and subsequently in the general elections on December 7, promising to increase the votes for her party in 2024.

Since her return to Ghana, Sarah Adwoa Safo after her long absence in the Constituency has been doing a lot of explanation to the people on why she has been away for that long as well as pleading with them for forgiveness.

She has been touring the Dome-Kwabenya Constituency and meeting with party executives as well as ordinary voters.

Her visit to the Dome Market a week ago, according to reports was not pleasant. Some market women were reported to have hooted at her.

But the former Deputy Majority Leader said it was just a few of the market women who were not happy with her presence, but the majority still loved her.

‘’Not everybody will like you. Daddy Lumba said ‘pimpim b3 do wo, pimpim b3 tain wo’, go to Dome Market and my women still love me. So, if you have about a section of about 10, 15 women who just want to create a scene, then take it as it is. But on the day of voting, I know my women, I know the love they show me and I know they will definitely vote for me’’.

Adwoa Safo said she went to the Dome Market to see to a project that she started, but could not complete due to her absence.

‘’The concerns are concerns of a project that I started and I wasn’t there and it stalled. That’s the reason I went to the market just to see for myself the state at which the contractor had done the work and what input I can put in, so that we can complete the market sheds and the market stalls for them. It’s my project. It’s no one’s project so if I go there, and they’ve been calling me that I should come there because its stalled, obviously I will go. If 15 people think I shouldn’t have been there, the majority carries the vote.’’

She is sure of victory in the NPP parliamentary primaries in February, adding that people still love the Adwoa Safo brand.

‘’There’s not been any electoral year that my votes decreased. Every year, it’s been consistent. People love the brand Adwoa Safo and it’s a household name. My kids call me Adwoa Safo they don’t need to add honourable to it. …I don’t need any titles to make my people happy. So, on the day of the election, come February you will see what will happen in Dome-Kwabenya.,’ she said.
