The University of Cape Coast student Mr. Ernest Agyare, popularly known as “OBAMA,” has been elected by the delegates of the National Health Students Association of Ghana (NAHSAG) to serve as its president for the 2024–2025 academic year.
NAHSAG is the umbrella body of all health students and fresh graduates from the various health training institutions and universities across the country.
Mr. Ernest was elected at the 16th Annual Delegate Congress that took place at the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) Secretariat in Ho in the Volta Region on Saturday, December 16, 2023.
The congress was attended by many Students’ Union executives across the country.
The congress was held under the theme “Advancing Global well-being: Integrating Health, Climate And Energy For Universal Coverace”.
By a margin of more than thirty votes, Mr. Ernest Agyare defeated Fabian Gaku K. Pinto to win the presidency.
Mr. Ernest Agyare will take over from the currente President of the National Health Students Association of Ghana; Asamoah Daniel Onomah, in the coming weeks.
Mr. Ernest told MyGhanaMedia.com after the declaration that he is grateful to God for this call to service, adding that his administration will focus much on the consolidation of past administration’s legacies and pushing for the voice of NAHSAG members to be heard beyond the shoes of Ghana.
