Mr. Kwesi Nyantakyi has urged the Ghana Football Association (GFA) led by Kurt Okraku to issue a heartfelt apology to Ghanaians following the disappointing performance by the Black Stars in the Ivory Coast during the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournament.
The Former President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) says the Black Stas do not belong to the FA but rather the FA is a custodian of the National Team who is managing the team for the people.
Nyantakyi says he has done it in the past and believes that the people who took over from him should do the same after the shambolic showing at the African Cup of Nations.
“And so if somehow the management of the team did not lead to the desired results that they expected, the management and the FA must come out and apologize. I have done it in the past. Even though in our case 2012 we got to the semi-finals.
“I think Ghanaians are entitled to get angry because Ghana deserves the best and if we fall short, whoever played a role in that should apologize to the people,” he said on Ghana Television
