The final funeral rites of Ghanaian football star, Raphael Dwamena who died in Albania has been scheduled for Friday, February 16, 2024.
The ceremony will take place at the Adjirigano Astro Turf, Accra.
The 28-year-old Raphael Dwamena was diagnosed with a heart condition and as a result, had a defibrillator inserted before making a ‘personal decision’ to remove it in 2022.
He passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, after a cardiac failure during an Albanian league game while playing for KF Egnatia against Partizani in the 24th minute.
The talented footballer made his international debut for the Black Stars of Ghana on June 11, 2017, against Ethiopia.

Raphael Dwamena goes home on February 16
Late Black stars player Raphael Dwamena will be laid to rest on Friday, February 16, 2024.
The former Ghana striker was pronounced dead on Saturday, November 11,2023 after collapsing on a football pitch during a League match in Albania.
The Egnatia player suffered a heart attack during a League match between Egnatia and Partizani.
The 28-year old ex-national star collapsed on the field in the 24th minute of the league game and passed away minutes later at the Kavaja hospital.
The former Red Bull Academy player represented Ghana 9 times and scored two goals.
The Ghana Football Association has accepted to assist the family with the final funeral rites for the ex- national star.
The funeral and burial service will be held at the Adjiriganor Astro Turf in Accra.
