The communications officer of the New Patriotic Party for Asante Akim North Constituency, Eric Opoku Asamoah, has resigned from his position.
This was contained in a letter and addressed to the Constituency Chairman of Asanti Akyem North.
The recent enstoolment of Mr. Eric Opoku as the Chief of Abrewapon in the Agogo Traditional Area has reportedly forced him to take action, according to a statement obtained by MyGhanaMedia.com.
In his words, the decision satisfies both the party’s and Ghana’s 1992 constitution criteria.
Eric Opoku Asamoah expressed gratitude to the constituency executives and all stakeholders for the opportunity to serve the party.

Dear Chairman,
A LETTER OF RESIGNATION
Persuant to Article 94(3)(b) of the 1992 Constitution of Ghana and Article 3(4)(6) of the New Patriotic Party’s Constitution, I officially write to resign from my position as the communications officer of the New Patriotic Party, Asante Akim North Constituency.
This action is been necessitated by my recent enstolment as the Chief of Abrewapon in Agogo Traditional Area which conflicts with the above constitutional requirement.
I still remain a staunch member of the party on record and humbly embrace any responsibility assigned to me in a diverse ways to ensure the elephant family remains strong and prosperous.
I would like to thank all stakeholders for their support and still committed to work for our dear party.
