The Cape Coast High Court 2, presided over by His Lordship John-Mark Nuku Alifo has refused bail to Christopher Ekow Clark Quansah and Michael Darko, both accused persons to the death of Georgina Asor Botchwey whose gruesome murder occurred on September 9, 2022, at Mankessim in the Mfantseman Municipality in the Central Region.

This follows a bail application tendered by lawyers of the two accused persons, represented by Michael Monnie with Philomena Abanga for the first accused (Christopher Ekow Clark Quansah), and Solomon Gyasi who held the brief for Roland A.K. Hamilton for the second accused (Michael Darko).

The bail application which attracted a backlash, got officers of the Attorney General, represented by Monica Geraldo De-Lima, Assistant State Attorney, led by Vincent Nyineku, the Principal State Attorney for the prosecution object to the plea.

Accused persons following their plea for bail, have since September 2022 be remanded into police custody, until their first appearance before the Cape Coast High Court ‘2’ on February 13, 2024, which saw them remanded into prison custody at the Ankaful Prison Service.

The accused persons, on their second appearance before the Cape Coast High Court ‘2’ on Tuesday, February 20, 2024, pleaded not guilty to all five counts charged with.

These include the conspiracy to commit murder, murder and three other counts on the unlawful possession of explosive firearms and ammunition.

In an interview with *Sompa News Eric Annan*, Papa Annan Swanzy, Uncle to murdered Georgina Asor Botchwey recounted that should all judges in the country be free, firm and fair in the discharge of their duties like His Lordship John-Mark Alifo of the Cape Coast High Court ‘2’, the Ghanaian judicial service would’ve be an envy to most countries across the globe.

Having had lawyer for the first accused describe charges leveled against the accused persons as untrue and misleading, had the bereaved Uncle say to the lawyer to be ignorant of whatever he authored before the court.

He additionally assumed to be revered personalities coaching the accused persons behind the scenes on what to say before the Cape Coast High Court, over their denial to charges leveled against them before the court, after the same people had attested to committing the crime when they were arranged before the Cape Coast District Court ‘2’ a few months back.
