The Former President of Ghana, H.E John Kofi Agyekum Kufuor has described activities of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer/questioning, asexual, and many other terms (including non-binary and pansexual) as demonic and evil, and argues that such behaviors shouldn’t be accepted in the nation.
He continued by saying that God would have made it clear in his words if he had desired for people to engage in LGBTQ activities.
The former president Kufuor holds that God established marriage as the union of a man and a woman.
“That is a devilish deed. I detest it, and I believe Ghanaians feel the same way” he stated
As a result, he counsels parents to watch over their kids to make sure they don’t partake in inappropriate behavior.
His comments come at a crucial juncture as the passage of anti-LGBTQ+ bill by parliament sparks heated debates across various sectors.
He weighed in on the current discourse surrounding the anti-LGBTQ+ bill, emphasizing the significance of embracing diversity and respecting individual differences.
