Friday, March 29, and Monday, April 1, 2024, have been designated as public holidays by the government of Ghana.
This is to commemorate Easter and Good Friday, respectively.
The statement was issued on Monday, March 25, 2024, by the Minister of Interior, Hon. Henry Quartey.
“The general public is hereby informed that Friday, 29th March 2024, and Monday, 1st April 2024, which mark Good Friday and Easter Monday respectively, are Statutory Public Holidays and should be observed as such throughout the country”.
He congratulated all Christians on the occasion of the Easter celebration, urging them to remain committed to the exemplary attributes of love, tolerance, and peaceful co-existence that Jesus Christ exhibited during his time on earth.
Easter is another Christian festive period when the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are commemorated worldwide.
