The Controller and Accountant General, Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem, has resigned from his position, according to information obtained by MyGhanaMedia.com.
While some media outlets had earlier claimed that President Akufo-Addo had fired Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem, our trustworthy source has clarified that he had actually resigned.
His resignation is effective Monday, April 15, 2024.
The reason behind Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem’s resignation from the role of Controller and Accountant General remains unclear.
According to the source, the government’s chief accountant submitted his resignation letter last week to the Office of the President pending the president’s acceptance letter.
Kwasi Kwaning-Bosompem faced criticism following his vigorous campaign to represent Akyem Swedru in the Eastern Region as a member of parliament.
Meanwhile, he was unsuccessful in his bid to unseat Akyem Swedru, the incumbent member of parliament for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), in Saturday’s primary.
