The Eastern Regional Grassroots Communications team members  (Serial Callers ) of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) responsible for defending and promoting the ruling government projects across the country on various media platforms have declared a strike over what it describes as poor welfare and remuneration.

Mr. Kwasi Amoami, the Director of Grassroots Communications in Asikaman Block (Kade, Adaiso, Nsawom, and Asamankesi) lamented that the executives of the paty have taken them for granted for a very long time.

Speaking to Chairman Fergy, the host of Ofie FM’s morning show, Mr. Amoani revealed that despite their hard work and effort in running the party’s campaign, which propelled them to power, the leaders had rejected them.

He said “This development has become necessary following the increasing frustrations of our members as a result of failed promises by our party regional and national executives for some years now to cater to the socioeconomic welfare of our members,”

In light of this, they have ceased to communicate for and on behalf of the NPP and the government with immediate effect.

Under the condition of anonymity, Mr. Kwasi Amoami, the Director of Grassroots Communications in Asikaman Block (Kade, Adaiso, Nsawom, and Asamankesi), stated that his colleagues under his supervision have received instructions not to appear on radio or television to defend and advertise the projects of the ruling government until the leaders at the national level meet their needs..

Members have therefore been asked to comply with the directive as anyone or group of persons who defy this will face sanctions.

He argues that they have not profited from their own government or the party because party officials refuse to acknowledge them.

They also accuse the party’s national executives of failing to recognize their efforts and reward them appropriately.

Mr. Kwasi Amoani continued, saying that the meager ₵200 monthly money they receive is insignificant considering the approximate ₵600 cost of airtime they purchase before the month ends.

He feels they’re working for the benefit of certain individuals.
