Residents Of Oda Nkwanta Call For Help Amid Heavy Rain And Severe Storms

Residents of Oda Nkwanta in the Birim Central municipality of Eastern region are calling for help from government, NGO’s and cooperate agency after a heavy downpour which has rendered many residents homeless whilst others are severely injured by flying roofing sheets.

 

Some residents have heavily been affected by the heavy downpour last night in the community as many houses have been completely collapsed, others roofs ripped off totally while an old aged woman suffers severe back injury when flying roofing sheets fell on her.

 

 

The assembly member of Oda Nkwanta electoral area; Bismark Agyekum and a Unit Committee member; Patrick Kwabena Gyemah respectively spoke to Peace FM after touring the community to ascertain the rate at which the rainstorm has damaged properties in the community.

 

 

They have therefore called on their member of Parliament; Hon. Alexander Akwasi Acquah, government and other cooperate agencies to as a matter of agency come to their rescue as many residents are homeless due to the rainstorm disaster.

Meanwhile some victims of the rainstorm disaster in Oda Nkwanta community also spoke to Peace FM and divulged what they are going through currently after the rainstorm disaster and have called for an immediate help from government and others.
