Pure Water Producers In Akyem Oda Increase Prices

Pure Water Producers (PWP) in Akyem Oda and its environs say it has jacked up the price of sachet water from GH₵ 6 to GH₵ 7 per bag effective Monday, May 27, 2024.

This is stated in a statement made by Mr. Emmanuel Kwadwo Yeboah Mireku, the association’s branch chairman.

Though he acknowledged that the association did not find it easy to raise the price, he explained that the necessity for the new increase stemmed from the rising costs of production and distribution, which include fuel and electricity.

He states that the producer price of a bag of pure water will now be GH₵ 7 and the retail price will be GH₵ 8.

However he pleaded with their numerous clients to put up with the association because they have no control over the rising costs of production.

A sachet of pure water is currently sold in Akyem Oda and the surrounding areas for 0.40 and 0.50 pesewas in accordance with the recent increment.
