Residents of Akwatia Township and the surrounding areas in the Eastern Region have been without power for an extended period due to a fault, as announced by the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo).
GRDICo reports that there was a fire incident at the Akwatia substation on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at 2:00 20:00 hrs.
This resulted in the curtailment of power supply to Akwatia Township, Oda, Kade, Asamankese and adjoining towns, a statement said.
“Our engineers are working quickly to resolve the fault and restore power supply as
quickly as possible.
“GRIDCo apologises for the inconveniences caused,” the statement added.
