The Deputy National Organiser for Friends of Bawumia 2008 (FoB-08) and the First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party in the Atwima Nwabiagya South Constituency, Hon. John Kwame Duodu (SIR JOHN), has praised the Electoral Commission (EC) for the well-run limited voter registration exercise.
Sir John, who is also the patron of Ashanti Regional TESCON, stated that in spite of the early difficulties encountered in certain registration centres, the electoral body efficiently oversaw the procedure.
This year’s limited voter registration exercise, which began on May 7, 2024, was originally slated to conclude on May 27. However, it was extended by two days and concluded on Wednesday, May 29.
This process was designed to update the voter register in preparation for the forthcoming general elections.
Meanwhile, EC has begun the replacement of missing ID cards at a cost of GH₵ 10.

Encouragement for the Future
Sir John also urged voters in the Atwima Nwabiagya South constituency to overwhelmingly support Alhaji Dr. Mahmoudu Bawumia for President and Shirley Kyei for Member of Parliament in the upcoming December 7, 2024 general election. He emphasized that with Dr. Bawumia as president, the constituency will receive the long-awaited development it deserves. According to him, if the NPP government is re-elected, it will facilitate the development of the constituency.
