Edmund Kyei Deflates Ato Forson’s Propaganda Over BoG Residence 

Mr. Edmund Kyei, the former New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Asokwa constituency, has cautioned Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, the minority leader in parliament, to cease his “usual propaganda” regarding the Bank of Ghana’s residence.

According to Mr. Edmund, who is also a member of the ruling party’s National Communications Team, Ato Forson, the Minority Leader in Parliament, as part of his usual propaganda and tactics of diverting the attention of the nation on his great loss caused to the nation when he purchased ambulances that were not meant for purpose during his tenure as Deputy Minister for Finance.

His remarks follow the accusation made by Parliament’s Minority Leader, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, that the Bank of Ghana (BoG) is constructing a new multi-million-dollar residence for its governor at the former site of the Bank of Ghana Clinic in Ridge, Accra.

In a post on X on Monday, June 3, the former Deputy Finance Minister expressed concerns over the demolition of the clinic, claiming it was done specifically to make way for the governor’s new residence.

Dr. Forson criticised Governor Ernest Addison for proceeding with the project despite the significant financial losses reported by the BoG.

In response to Dr Ato’s assertions, however, Mr Edmund Kyei stated in a statement obtained by MyGhanaMedia.com that the allegations that the Bank of Ghana is constructing a new governor’s mansion is untrue, as the building in question has long existed—many years before the current BOG Governor took office.

ATO FORSON SHOULD STOP HIS USUAL PROPAGANDA ON BOG RESIDENCE–EDMUND KYEI

The Government of Ghana in the late 1950’s established the Bank Of Ghana from the initial Bank Of Gold Coast as a regulatory body to supervise the activities of Banks both Government and private in Ghana.

It is also the mandate of the Bank Of Bank to help in the Economic building of the nation by assisting the central Government in the nations currency regulations.

Over many years of it’s establishment, the Bank Of Ghana has made many achievements per it’s mandate and reason for it’s establishment.

Dr Ernest Addison who is the 17th Governor of the Bank Of Ghana has achieved a lot which has gained him awards which include the honour from Global Markets in 2020 as the the best Central Bank Governor in Sub Saharan Africa.

Ato Forson, the Minority Leader in Parliament as part of his usual propaganda and tactics of diverting the attention of the nation on his great loss caused to the nation when purchased ambulances which were not meant for purpose during his tenure as Deputy Minister for Finance.

His allegation of the Bank of  Ghana building a new residence for the Governor is false, the building he is alleging has being in existence for a long time years before the current BOG Governor was sworn in.

Dr Ernest Addison is in his last year as the Governor since he was appointed by the President on 17th April 2017 so he has no interest building a new residence for himself since he will be out of office by its completion.

Dr Ato Forson should spend his propaganda harvesting times on way of apologizing to the nation on the lost caused to the nation.
