The President of the Republic, H.E Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed the Majority Leader and Member of Parliament for Effutu, Alexander Afenyo-Markin as the new board Chairman of the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).
This appointment was detailed in a letter signed by the Executive Secretary to the President, Nana Asante Bediatuo.
“The President of the Republic has nominated Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin (MP), Member of Parliament for Effutu in the Central Region, as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Electricity Company of Ghana Limited.”
“Kindly take the necessary steps to give effect to the President’s nomination in accordance with the Companies Act 2019 (Act 992) and the Regulations of the Company,” the letter said.
The Majority Leader succeeds Herbert Krapa, who is now Minister of State at the Energy Ministry.
Mr Krapa replaced Keli Gadzekpo who resigned on March 26.
