The Member of Parliament for Awutu Senya East Constituency and the Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture Development, Mrs. Mavis Hawa Koomson, has revealed that the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) planned to shoot and kill her son a day before he was stabbed.
Madam Koomson’s firstborn, Ato Koomson, was stabbed in the chest by an NDC ward Organizer during a voter transfer exercise.
The suspect was arrested and is assisting with investigations. However, the NDC has mounted a spirited defense for the suspect, claiming he was protecting himself from being lynched by Mr. Koomson’s thugs.
But Hawa Koomson who is also the Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture made the allegation during a Peace Talk event to settle a dispute between NDC and NPP in the constituency at Kasoa Odikro Palace.
The Awutu Senya East MP claimed she had received information about the NDC’s plot to kill her son.
She noted that, she gave the information to the Police but was shocked that they failed to arrest the suspect before the act was committed.
Hawa Koomson said she pointed out the suspect to the Police the day before the incident, and it was the same person who nearly killed her son.
