A viral video circulating on social media features the Deputy Communications Director of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Malik Basintale making serious allegations against Amidu Chinnia Issahaku, the New Patriotic Party’s member of parliament for Sissala East Constituency in the Upper West Region, accusing him of involvement in state capture.
Mr. Basintale claims Chinnia has amassed multiple properties under his name, allegedly through illicit means.
Presenting documents to support his claims, Basintale asserted during an interview with GHOne TV that Chinnia is implicated in state capture, pointing to a radio station, residential properties, and companies supposedly acquired on state lands in his hometown.
Basintale challenged Chinnia’s denial of involvement, questioning the legitimacy of his acquisitions.
The allegations come amidst heightened scrutiny over state properties, with figures like NDC’s Okudzeto Ablakwa championing the cause.
Ablakwa’s recent efforts against Bryan Acheampong’s attempted acquisition of SSNIT state properties have intensified public focus on the issue.
