Take Your Grievances Directly To The Presidency – Finance Ministry Replies NABCo Trainees’ Petition Over Unpaid Arrears

The Finance Ministry has responded to a petition from the Nation Builders Corps (NABCo) trainees regarding their unpaid arrears for the past nine months.

The Ministry clarified that since the programme falls under the Office of the President, any grievances should be directed through that office.

In a response dated July 11, the Finance Ministry advised the trainees to submit any additional documentation that might support their claims for payment.

The Ministry stated that once these documents are reviewed and validated, the outstanding payments will be processed.

It stressed the need for proper channels to address financial issues related to the NABCO programme, and highlights the procedural steps necessary for the resolution of payment delays.

To the best of MyGhanaMedia.com’s knowledge, the NABCO Trainees Association officially petitioned the NABCO Secretariat, the Speaker of Parliament, the Ministry of Finance, and the Office of the Vice President.

Despite their efforts, the trainees claim that all attempts to prompt the government to fulfill its payment obligations of the nine-month arrears owed to them have been unsuccessful.

The Akufo-Addo-led administration introduced NABCO in 2017 as part of measures to address graduate unemployment in the country.

The initiative was run under seven modules: Educate Ghana, Heal Ghana, Feed Ghana, Revenue Ghana, Digitize Ghana, Enterprise Ghana, and Civic Ghana.
