Aburi Girls Old Students Association of 1999 year group (AOGA ’99’) has officially launched its fundraising drive for a school renovation legacy project.
Members of the year group and AOGA 99 fraternity, representatives from various sister schools, as well as devotees and well-wishers, attended the launch, which took place on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Kofi-Annan ICT Centre (Accra).
In her address at the launch, Mrs.Emelia Sackey, the President of the Association, stressed the urgent necessity of commencing a development project in order to assist the educational institution’s progress.
He appealed to the general public, in particular those who were passionate about educational development, corporate organizations, parents of girls, and individual donors, to join forces in support of the legacy projects that they planned to carry out by the end of October 2024.
The president said it is excellent to give back gratitude to the school for the past 25 years of completion.

In addition, the group found certain outdated facilities related to the dining hall and kitchen of “Irene Anderson’s” assets, which need to be fixed right away.
The members of the organising committee, which were made up of Esinam Lucci Ama Apasu (‘AOGA 99′) Global organising chairperson) and in charge of the year ’99’ group catering, Sylvia Odonkor (lead chair) ’99’ group, Madam Beatrice Kotey (logistics) ’99’ group, and others.
These committee members estimated an amount of GHC2 million to execute the completion of the project, which actually started last year and is currently partly done.
Mrs. Rita Binney, the assistant headmistress of the school, also chimed in to commend the old students association on the work they had put into organising such a positive activity.
While some students graduate from school and move on without any further worries, it is encouraging to see how this group has come together to return the discipline they have received from the school.
She remains appreciative of the organisation and exhorts everyone to send their girl child to Aburi Girls SHS in order to instill virtue and the expected kind of behaviour.
