KNUST Warns Against Fraudulent Admission Syndicate

Spread the love

The Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) has warned prospective students and their guardians about a fraudulent syndicate falsely claiming to facilitate admissions.

In a press release dated August 23, 2024, KNUST management revealed that the syndicate operates using fake email addresses such as knust.inscript@gmail.com and knust.inscripton@gmail.com to solicit payments and personal information from unsuspecting applicants.

KNUST emphasised that it has not authorized any individuals, agents, or third parties to handle admissions on its behalf.

All admissions processes are managed solely through the university’s official channels.

The university urged prospective students and their parents to disregard any such fraudulent communications and report them immediately to the nearest police station.

For clarity, KNUST reminded stakeholders that official undergraduate admission forms are available at all regional post offices nationwide or can be purchased by dialing the short code *885# and following the prompts. Postgraduate admission forms are available at designated banks.

Dr. Daniel Norris Bekoe, Deputy Registrar of the University Relations Office, stated, “KNUST remains committed to a transparent and secure admission process for all applicants. We entreat all prospective students and guardians to exercise extreme caution and engage with the KNUST Admission Office exclusively to avoid falling victim to fraud.”

The university reiterated its dedication to ensuring a safe and legitimate admission process and encouraged the public to contact the KNUST Admission Office for any inquiries.
