All Is Set For the 4th Edition of Floodlight Media Excellence Awards

This year’s edition of the annual Floodlight Media Excellence Awards will be held on 31st August 2024 at KNUST-CCB AUDITORIUM, Kumasi, the organizers have announced.

The awards ceremony is Themed *”Avoiding Media Sensationalism; The Role of the Media in Dissemination of Information towards a Free and Fair Elections.”* will witness over 45 distinguished individuals being honored with plaques and citations of recognition for their immense contribution to Ghana’s media freedom.

The Floodlight Media Excellence Awards is an award scheme that seeks to empower the next generation of media and celebrate personalities and brands that inspire, entertain, and shape our society.

In an interview with BEATWAVES, the Chief Executive Officer of Floodlight Media Excellence Awards, Acquah Augustine, indicated that this year’s edition will recognize exemplary journalists across various sectors, including agriculture, sports, entertainment and lifestyle, and business, among others.

“The Floodlight Media Excellence Awards will this year honor journalists across various sectors who have contributed to the development of Ghana’s media landscape under the 2023-2024 year review,” he said.

The guests for the event include. Nana Yaw Akuoko(OUR BOARD CHAIRMAN,OTUMFUO ASSINHENE) , NANA DUAH AGYEMANG I (OTUMFUO T ASSINHENE) (Dr. S.K. Nuamah, former Member of Parliament for Kwadaso.

HON. FRANCIS ASENSO-BOAKYE(MINISTER FOR ROADS AND HIGHWAY)HON.ISAAC KWAME ASIAMAH(MP, ATWIMA MPONUA) MR. HAMMER NTI(CEO OF HAMMER PRODUCTIONS), MR. MAXWELL NANA BOAKYE(PALASCO) (CEO OF MAX-PALOSCO GROUP OF COMPANIES), Mr. Samuel Darko (CEO of Kumawood TV), and Mr. Kwabena Frimpong (Dpt Director of Protocol-NPP) will also grace the event.

 

According to the CEO, the red carpet starts at others6pm, followed by the main event at 7pm.

Some of the categories include Media Personality of the Year, Video Editor & Director of the Year, Best Morning Show Host of the Year, Morning Show Programme of the Year, Female Akan News Caster of the Year, and Reporter of the Year.

Others are Mid Morning Host, Social & Developmental Programme of the Year, Entertainment Programme of the Year, Sports Host of the Year, Influential Blogger of the Year, Event Host of the Year, and others.
