NaCCA Commends Competition

Mr. Kenneth Wontumi of the National Council for Curriculum and Assessment (NaCCA) during his address praised Perfect Series Publications and Perfect Star Media for their introduction of this educational competition.

He congratulated the organizers on behalf of NaCCA and the Ministry of Education for their efforts to enhance the quality of education in Ghana.

“On behalf of NaCCA and the Education Ministry, I congratulate Perfect Star Media Production and their sponsors to promoting quality education in Ghana,” he said.

Mr. Wontumi highlighted that the competition provides a valuable platform for students to showcase their core competencies.

He emphasized that the inclusive nature of the competition ensures no child is left behind and that it aims to inspire learners towards excellence, develop leadership skills, and equip them with the knowledge and values necessary for meaningful societal contribution.

“We are all fighting for a common goal to inspire learners to achieve excellence, foster leadership skills, and equip them with the knowledge and values they to contribute meaningfully to the society,” he stated.

He stressed that the competition would foster critical thinking skills among students and shift from traditional quiz formats, encouraging a more comprehensive assessment approach.

Mr. Wontumi urged students to view the competition as a growth opportunity and to engage fully with their teachers for support.

Pastor Philip Sarpong, CEO of Perfect Star Media and Perfect Grade Publications, expressed that the competition represents a new era in educational contests in Ghana.

He noted that current educational competitions often overlook critical thinking, writing, problem-solving, digital literacy, leadership, and global citizenship skills. He lamented that traditional quiz formats can sometimes exclude less vocal students and highlighted that this competition aims to address those gaps.

Pastor Sarpong emphasized that the competition complements government and Ghana Education Service efforts and strives to unite basic schools nationwide.

Positive Feedback from Teachers

Some teachers expressed their enthusiasm for the competition, noting that it aligns well with the new curriculum introduced by NaCCA and serves as a valuable boost to academic performance.

They stated that simply participating in the competition means you are already considered a winner.
