A communication team member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Alhaji Naziru Mohammed, has declared that if the electoral commission ignores the concerns raised regarding the voter register, the results of the 2024 election will not be accepted.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has been protesting nationwide to demand an independent forensic audit of the country’s voter register.

Party officials say they have identified errors in the electoral roll for December’s nationwide poll that require correction.

Alhaji Naziru claims that the electoral commission has acknowledged that there are errors in the voter register, so he doesn’t understand why the commission won’t permit an independent forensic audit.

He stated that because of the electoral commission’s inconsistencies and confusion, no one will accept the results of the 2024 election.

“Nobody will accept the election results due to the discrepancies and confusion caused by the electoral commission”.

He pointed out that if the election results are rejected, Ghanaians should also hold the electoral commission officials accountable as they ignored the proper course of action.

Alhaji Naziru Mohammed listed some of the errors that have been noted in the voter register, which include discrepancies, illegal name transfers, missing voters, and the inclusion of the names of over 50,000 dead people.
