The 5th Cohort of the Kayayei Empowerment Program, founded by Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, celebrated the graduation of 600 women on Tuesday, October 15, 2024. This groundbreaking initiative aims to empower Kayayei women by equipping them with essential vocational skills, paving the way for their economic independence.

The graduates were trained in six specialized areas, including baking, bead making, soap making, decoration, driving, and more. The program’s goal is to unlock the potential of these women, enabling them to become self-reliant and economically active members of society.

She pledged ongoing support and emphasized the importance of monitoring the progress of the graduates. Ms. Laryea also announced plans to introduce a new cohort focused on ICT training, including coding and digital skills, specifically for the Kayayei.
