A/R: CID Probes Prempeh College, 52 SHSs Over Alleged School Feeding Scandal

The CID is investigating the 53 senior high schools in the Ashanti Region over issues related to the supply of food items

At least 53 Senior High Schools in the Ashanti Region are being investigated by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service over allegations of corruption in the implementation of the Free SHS feeding programme.

A letter from the Ghana Education Service (GES) in possession of Asaaseradio.com is ordering the regional director of education to release headmasters and headmistresses, assistants, domestic bursars, accountants and storekeepers to assist with the investigation.

“Management has received a letter from the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service which indicates that they are investigating some issues related to the supply of food items to some of the Senior High Schools in your region,” the GES statement said.

“It will be appreciated if your office could co-operate and collaborate fully with the CID in carrying out the investigations.”

Some of the schools under investigations are Prempeh college, Opoku Ware SHS,  Kumasi Girls SHS, Tepa SHS among others.
