The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana has formally presented the final voters’ register to political parties, marking a key step in preparation for the 2024 elections.
The register contains the names of eligible voters for the elections set for December 7, 2024.
Speaking to political party representatives in Accra on Wednesday, November 6, EC Chairperson Jean Mensa highlighted the register’s critical role in promoting a transparent and credible electoral process.
“At the meeting of IPAC on the 15th of October, we indicated that this presentation would be made to you at the end of the first week of November. However, with the help of God, we have been able to do that two days before the 8th which signifies the end of the first week of November.
“Following the exhibition of the revised PVR, the commission received a total of 158 issues from voters across the country.
“I am pleased to note that all the issues have been resolved and as we speak, we have no further issues regarding the final voters register…I am pleased to note that we now have a robust and credible final certified voters register which is fit to deliver a credible transparent, fair, peaceful and glorious election come the 7th of December 2024,” he said.
