A farmer in the Afigya Kwabre North constituency of the Ashanti Region has reportedly stumbled upon two suspected ballot boxes hidden in the bush, sparking outrage and concerns over potential election malpractice.
The farmer, whose identity remains undisclosed, made the discovery during routine work and promptly alerted local party executives.
Upon inspection, it was revealed that the boxes appeared to contain ballot papers.
One of the boxes, labeled as a parliamentary ballot box, bore the serial number 290401B and was tagged with the polling station Abrim Ahenkro.
The second, a presidential ballot box, had the serial number 529060 and was reportedly assigned to DA/Primary School Duaponko.
The incident has ignited tension in the constituency as stakeholders demand an urgent investigation by the Electoral Commission and relevant authorities.
The discovery raises critical questions about the integrity of the election process in the area, with calls for transparency and accountability growing louder.
